ABOUT THE PLACE
A small town in the folds of Himachal, Bir as a place is heavily influenced by Tibetan culture, due to it’s vast Tibetan Community which resides in this picturesque haven. But what it is actually known for is Paragliding and even quoted as a ‘one of the best spot’ for this adventure sport. Collectively, the place is known as Bir-Billing because Billing is the ‘take-off’ site and Bir is the ‘landing’ site. If we talk about the altitude change between these sites, that is around 800m. If you’re not an adventure seeker, then Bir can interest you for a little soul searching. It is home to very many Monasteries, this place is a hub for spiritual studies and meditation. In all, different tastes are catered to in this little town of Bir.
